Hearing Aid Fittings
Your hearing aid fitting is an important part of the hearing solution. Once you have selected your hearing aids after an evaluation, your hearing professional will program them, based on a prescription, to meet your hearing needs. During this time, your hearing professional will explain how to :
- Use the devices
- Put them in your ears
- Remove them
- Change batteries
- Care for and clean the devices
We suggest bringing a friend or family member to help remember all the information that is given and be a support to you.
During this fitting, we will gauge the sounds you are hearing and the comfort level of the hearing aid. The sound should be clear and pleasant. We may do alternate testing to make sure the hearing aids are giving you enough sound where you need it.
For us to better understand how the hearing aid is working for you, we may give you a short survey or list of questions to answer. We want the hearing quality to be the best it possibly can. Keep in mind that it may take some time to get used to the sounds you were missing, and by working closely with your audiologist, you will get the most out of your new hearing aids.
