Styles of Hearing Aids.

ITE hearing aids can be used for a wide range of hearing losses.  Due to their larger size, ITEs and full concha hearing aids can accommodate large sound amplifiers and many features.  They are also easy to handle.  These styles are suitable for hearing losses from mild to severe and from flat to steeply sloping.

ITC hearing aids fit far into the ear canal and provide a very cosmetic solution that will be hidden almost totally in the ears.  These hearing instruments use a slightly larger battery than the CIC styles.  The ITC style deals with all types of hearing losses from mild to moderately severe and from flat to steeply sloping.

ITE: In The Ear

ITC: In The Canal

CIC hearing aids are the smallest most discreet, custom instruments available.  They are cosmetically appealing and suitable for many mild to moderately severe hearing losses.

CIC: Completely In the Canal

Smaller, stylish, virtually invisible Micro BTE hearing aids, with state-of-the-art technology that fits behind the ear.  Micro BTE hearing aids provide superior amplification in a smaller device. Micro BTEs can provide open-ear technology that makes it one of the most comfortable to wear.  Micro BTEs can handle many types of hearing losses from mild to moderately severe.  This style is especially recommended for the image conscience individual.

In BTE hearing aids, the electronics are housed in a case that fits behind the ear.  Tubing and a custom made ear mold direct the sound to the ear canal.  BTE hearing aids can provide more amplification than smaller devices due to the stronger amplifier and larger batter.  BTEs can handle all types of hearing losses from mild to profound and from flat to steeply sloping.  This style is especially recommended for children.
